Lori Yeary’s passion for jewelry started when she was a young girl, as she rummaged through her grandmother’s jewelry box, trying on as many pieces at one time as possible. The most powerful creative influences over her early life were her mother and grandmother, who were both talented painters and charcoal artists. Her mother was also a very gifted china painter, which is becoming a lost art. Although she wanted her daughter to china paint
as well, Lori never had the patience for it. She did, however, inherit her mother’s creativity, and when Lori discovered jewelry making, it was like being set free.
In 2001, Lori embarked on a journey of discovery when she began designing simple earrings to match her outfits. She later enrolled in silversmithing and precious metal clay classes and began to actively hone her craft. Jewelry making isn’t just a hobby, says Lori; it is her passion and outlet for all the creativity that has been bottled up inside for a very long time.
“I love the challenge of seeing an idea in my head and working through the design and creative process to make it a reality,” Lori says. “I find inspiration in everyday things—mixes of colors in a garden, fall colors on the trees, and a thousand other places.”
Over the past 10 years, Lori’s talents and her career in jewelry design have flourished.
All of Lori’s jewelry is handcrafted using a variety of high-quality materials, including sterling silver, 14k gold-filled and gold vermeil, semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. Her custom designs are sold in select boutiques, including Circle Park Bridal in Addison, through private home shows, and through her website at www.loriyearydesigns.com and coming soon to Etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/loriyearydesigns.
